Speaking of tariffs, I'm sure you'll be shocked to learn that the two biggest steel companies in America have deep ties to the Trump admin and have been vetoing tariff waivers requested by smaller companies.

We had our quarterly communication meetings today at work.

We were informed that the next year is going to be much tighter than expected, because copper prices are taking a big hit due to the tariffs. We were also told that one expansion product for our facility is being put on hold, because steel prices are too high.

So much winning.

The steel industry has actually had a big uptick due to tariffs but the owners are pocketing all the money and not giving any to the workers.

I’ve got a question, maybe someone here can answer. We’re now getting $3 a bushel less for beans due to tariffs. The end users aren’t paying anymore then they were before the tariffs. I don’t really look at these as subsidies they are just funneling money for the beans through a tariff to the farmers. It won’t all get through to the farmers though. And if this price suppression is prolonged I doubt that these “subsidies” are continued. Just seems like a form of socialism to me. Take the top 25% off the top of the producers price and redistribute it.
