The pound is at a 31 year low. But...hey...INDEPENDENCE DAY for the oppressed Brits!

The process is going to take like 2 years and they will have to negotiate terms, repeal laws, amend other laws, etc. It's going to be a long and drawn out process. Also, some say this referendum isn't legally binding. I bet it doesn't happen.

What happens if the UK leaves the EU? We reveal what a Brexit win would mean

Can the United Kingdom government legally disregard a vote for Brexit?

Also, the UK was in the EU, but they never adopted the Euro. They stayed with the pound. I don't quite get that, and why the pound is taking a beating right now if it really wasn't tied to the Euro. I guess it is because of all the red tape this is going to reintroduce.

About the only thing I knew about the EU was that it made doing business in Europe incredibly easier in certain ways. Laws around things like product safety requirements were much more uniform across all the EU countries. You had to worry less about redesigning a product just so it could be sold in a different country. If you satisfied the EU requirements, you were good to go in all of those countries for the most part. It was a nightmare when they each had their own individual requirements.

Are you trying to make me feel better about this?

On the bright side, I have a lot of gold fillings in my teeth.

Can one of you smart guys explain it like I'm a child why the DOW will lose a million points tomorrow? I mean seriously how does this hurt us in the US even a little? I mean I get DOW companies obviously will operate in Europe as well but it's things like this that make me think the stock market is just one big stupid farce. I mean one week last year I lost like 7k. As far as I could tell the sky didn't fall and the earth kept turning but it took several months for my account to come out of that hole. Will thise stupid Brexit basically lose me another half a year of growth? I want a Ferrari damn it and this crap is really messing that up.

Sorry, I can't explain it. It seems like a huge overreaction to me. This just happened:
