So I recently discovered a new channel on SiriusXM (not sure if the channel itself is new or not) called Cover. Literally just covered songs - for the most part, it's awesome. Yesterday I heard a Cake cover of Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive." I've heard hard rock covers of Adele and Taylor Swift. Maroon 5 did Marcy Playground's "Sex & Candy."

I thought that would be a fun idea for a new GRB Tourney to get us up through Spring Training: best covered versions of songs

No restrictions on genre, decade, popularity, etc. As long as the original song being covered was a commercial release, then it's eligible. The only thing I feel that shouldn't be allowed are holiday songs, since there are literally like a million different versions of the same 10 Christmas songs. A cover you do yourself in your garage of AC/DC's "Thunderstruck" would be just as eligible as Jimi Hendrix's "All Along the Watchtower."

What say ye, GRB? I would have no problem running the Tourney, although to make the threads sticky and popup in other forums I think I'd need temporary mod access or something.

If enough people submit songs (I'm thinking allow a few songs per person), we could probably have enough for a couple different NCAA-style brackets.

That Cake song is awesome.

I also like the Lemonheads version of Mrs Robinson.
