Our financial system is crumbling this week.

Today would be a good day to take all of your money out of the bank, exchange it to a commodity metal (let's say copper), and put it under your mattress.

I would love to do that had I not spent all of my life savings on hookers and blow last weekend.

I'll place the over/under on the NYSE fall today at 500 points. I'm leaning towards the over.

EDIT: Right now, it's down 280.

This is a better investment plan than the one my coworker had. He bought a ton of Lehman stock last week thinking the government would bail them out.

Ouch.

I really wonder if there is going to be a run on the banks soon.

/Looks like I should pull out some cash and stash it in my safe-deposit box.
//I doubt anything bad will happen, but mob mentality is weird

I'd laugh at him, but I just checked my 401k, and I'm down 14.4% so far this year. Ouch.

I'd laugh at you, but I don't even have a 401k. Actually.... I do have one, it's got $800... or it did when I last looked at it 8 months ago.

As long as I keep buying in at a cheaper prices...I'm happy. I've got a long way to go until retirement.

Good lord, that is dumb. You don't invest based on the news.
