I assume the Gunns were from that part of town. I always think it’s cool when directors use their hometowns and I wish it could happen more often. Really any location filming in areas you don’t see a lot.

I just assumed that the town in GOTG2 was supposed to be a small town in the basic Sikeston or Cape Girardeau area, nice to see it's relatively close to St. Louis.

I haven't played the sound yet, but this looks fun and the cast is [chef kissy fingers thing].

Ocean’s 8 is a firm “meh.” There’s none of the tension or suspense of the Clooney movies.

Re: movies
I actually liked that about it. Or at least I liked that that there wasn’t a villain, and I wish more movies did that. A couple more obstacles and screw ups might have helped. Maybe a little more time spent on characters. I’d like to see a Linklater take on one of these.MrCrowesGarden wrote:Ocean’s 8 is a firm “meh.” There’s none of the tension or suspense of the Clooney movies.

I think there was a villain. I just think it wasn't tense at all.

Re: movies
I went to see Adrift today. I'm a sucker for against all odds natural disaster movies and this was made by the same guy who made Everest which I really liked.
I thought it was really good. It's 90 minutes and really moved at a good pace. I've never seen Shailene Woodley in anything and thought she was terrific. I think the flashback storytelling style robbed the film of some of the tension that would build, but it was shot beautifully showing the never-ending expanse of the ocean and its' power. If you liked All Is Lost, you'll like Adrift.
