I know I am late, but just watched A Scanner Darkly and really, really liked it.

Ever since I bought the kindle fire, I am really catching up on things I wanted to see.

Oddly though, every single time a nude scene shows up, someone gets on the treadmill next to me. Right at the moment that it begins. I watched Wanderlust (not recommended) and there is really only one nude scene (other than the nudist dude) - it is like 40 naked people running down a hill in slow motion. Talkative asian lady at the gym steps up next to me at that precise moment. A scanner darkly, the scene were Fred/Bob is reviewing the video of his sex romp with Connie/Donna - grandpa and HIS grandpa get on next to me and want me to help them turn it on.

I've been meaning to see that, as well as more Linklater in general. Waking Life and Slacker in particular. Anybody caught Bernie yet? My parents saw it and loved it. (Peeps be buzzin'.)

As hesitant as I am about the film, I would rather Nolan reign at the top of the blockbuster list than Cameron. Slim as the chances for that were, releasing only in 2D rules that out. On every other level I'm glad for the decision. Imagine how hard it would be to make Gotham dark and gritty without ending up with an unwatchably dark film in 3D.

The Dark Knight Rises is the first movie since high school that I've been counting down the days for it to be released.

Really? I feel like I do this a few times a year.

Yeah, I don't really get excited about movies. Probably haven't even been to a theater 5 times in the last 10 years.
