Maniac seems like the kind of show that would resonate here. Was hoping to find a discussion/review. Did anyone watch?

was so so so so so bad...watched it all....and it's awful (don't know why I continued to watch)

I'm not the guy to talk to though, as I have very different taste than most on here...

maniac seemed like a show the Coen brothers would make if they were on a bad acid trip (and I hate all of the Coen brothers movies, which is a big no no around here)

I watched Maniac and I didn't care for it. It's a shame because there were some interesting ideas and I respected their approach to mental illness.

Also, I like Jonah Hill, but he gives the worst performance of his career. He's howlingly bad.

I'm watching the new Julia Roberts show on amazon called Homecoming. I'm not in love with the show, but there's something about it that has me hooked. It's made by the same folks who created Mr. Robot so expect a slow burning unfolding mystery with plenty of stylistic flourishes. One thing I really appreciate is it's a 10 episode drama, but each episode is only 25-30 min in length which makes the decision to watch way less of a commitment.

Season 2 of The Deuce is pretty damned good. It's hard not to draw some lite Wire parallels (especially with a few actors from the former appearing in the latter). But imagine if there was a season 6 of the Wire that focused on how the prostitution trade in 70s NYC was gradually bought and shifted step by step by the mob and big money interests into something respectable, a billion dollar "entertainment" industry?

You'll enjoy it. Plus, lots of full frontal nudity!

Haunting of Hill House is incredibly good so far. I’m through 7 episodes. Best show Netflix has had besides Stranger Things. Also probably the best horror series I’ve seen.

It's really good. I hope it's just a 1 season thing though--i'm not sure how they could turn into multiple seasons, though im still only on episode 7

through 5 myself...it's really good as you both have stated.

I did see this note in regards to a possible season 2...

Quote:
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Creator/Director Flanagan said, "I don't want to speculate too much about season two until Netflix and Paramount and Amblin let us know if they want one. What I will say, though, is that as far as I've ever been concerned with this, the story of the Crain family is told. It's done."

so I'm guessing if a season 2 happens it goes more of the anthology route like an american horror story or true detective?
