For those of you curious, that HR Mr. Stanton hit left his bat at Mach .16. A ball off the bat of a hitter can spin as fast as 5000 RPM. For putting backspin on the ball, the greatest velocity in the direction the ball is traveling on the surface of the ball is on the bottom of the ball, and at 5000 RPM would be about 58.5 mph. When performing physics calculation on a ball traveling in that manner, you might as well consider air to be compressible, and thus the calculations become much more complex.
