Breakfast in STL
In my case, tomorrow AM. Where to go? - I presume all the weekend brunch places won't be serving.

Thanks -that's where we will go. Been meaning to try it. Have been to most of the others on the yelp list - Rooster , City CoffeeHouse, Benton Park Cafe, Majestic, of course the franchised places too.docellis wrote:Winslows Home on Delmar

Uncle Bill's Pancake House is classic grease-spoon and very affordable with a casual but friendly atmosphere.

Of course it's a given that I'm a food snob but I think Freed was looking for a place where you could get real maple syrup.
I'm looking forward to the opening of the Southwest Diner.

Interesting, a google search led me to their fundraising/investment site http://fundstlouis.org/2011/07/southwest-diner/

Mudhouse is pretty good. Had it awhile ago but don't remember much about it. I'll have to try Winslow's. Had never heard of it.
Its pretty amazing, but I think they only do brunch on Sundays.Popeye_Card wrote:Mokabe's (Grand and Arsenal) is supposed to be really good.

Winslow's was closed - monday. So instead of wandering around metro, we found a place open in Clayton - Break N Egg Diner. The breakfast was good - had a lot of good skillet scrambles -I went with the Greek. The place was cold in temp and decor - pretty barren. Had a nice Flo type waitress. Add a few warm touches and it could work.

Interesting. The little cafe diner in WG is also owned by a Turkish guy. Pretty nice place but I'd sure rather have a good Turkish joint.
