The people clearly are being dbags, I just don't think they have to hand over the ball to some snot nosed kid that has no idea what it is anyway. Marching around your half-your-age trophy wife while wearing your authentic jersey because it's expensive and I hear the Rangers are good at this game they play and then posing for photographs with your ball all while showing no concern at all for the young couple next to them trying to calm their unhappy kid is what makes them terrible people.

A.) A 3 year old
B.) A 6 year old
C.) A 9 year old
D.) A 24 year old, just returned from Afghanistan
E.) A 68 year old in a wheelchair

G.) Your wife
H.) Your grandmother

It is common decency for adults to give baseballs to kids.

Again, the kid's reaction was irrelevant.

These people are asshats because they thought it was more important to keep a baseball for themselves than it was to give it to a kid.

I.) Keep the ball, tell the kid's parents you're going to shut him up if they don't.

Why is a random ball handed from a stranger important to the kid?

Going back to the argument that catching the ball is more thrilling than the ball itself, how thrilling is it, even when you are 7, to be handed a ball that someone else caught? And when you are 3, you really have no clue about the value of a baseball tossed into the crowd. You know someone just got something and you didn't, so it is time to cry. Nobody involved in this situation would give 2 [expletive] about that ball in 24 hours, including and especially the 3 year old.

now if they were throwing balled up t-shirts or plastic balls into the stands, yea, I'd hand it off to the closest kid
