I used to back up DVDs from time to time using software like DVD Shrink, IMGBurn, etc. but it seemed more and more, 5 or 6 years ago, like the more modern DVD releases were difficult to make a copy that would play on non-computer DVD players. I was wondering if anyone could tell me, or point me in the right direction if there is a good forum or webpage somewhere, what's working these days on Windows 7?

Use the ISO Read/Write functions in DVD Decrypter. I've used it for many different discs and never had a problem. If you're having trouble playing discs on non-computer players, it's also possible that the issue is with the blank disc you used rather than the software. I use DVD+R DL (rather than DVD-R DL) for full disc copies as the + format is slightly more robust and compatible.

What AD said above is the best advice. If there is advanced copy protection, you may need to resort to a method like this. To rip the dvd first though. (You would only do part1. Although afterword you may want to look up some other guides to remove the nag screens at the beginning of the dvd.)

Thanks guys! Exactly what I was looking for. Hopefully, I'll find something that works. I bought Taiyo Yuden discs, which I know are supposed to be excellent, but they are DVD-R. I'll try the DVD+ if the solutions above don't work for me.
