Imagine if you were waiting years and years for a book with no date in sight.
Still, a reduction down to seven episodes and a four month delay... seems a bit extreme. My guess is the showrunners wanted more time, their pace was too grueling for them, and they needed more shooting in Iceland which they didn't want to rush, and HBO was fine with it because it would keep people running their subscriptions longer.

They had to wait until actual winter to start shooting

I used to go on www.iswintercoming.com all the time, and their mockery of GRRM for saying "book's due soon!" then not delivering, and not delivering, was fun for a while. Honestly, it's sad now though, as I'm not sure he's ever going to publish anything else. One of his most recent blog posts talks about that "Wild Cards" series he's involved with as right up there with "Watchmen" as the thing that revolutionised the superhero genre - which could be the dumbest thing he's ever said. I know a lot of nerds, and I don't know anyone who's even read a Wild Cards book, much less enjoyed one, much much less think it's in the same ballpark as "Watchmen".

If we're not getting Lady Stoneheart, then we're definitely not getting that.

Really, too bad he's boring. No one cares about stanis. Even when he was attacking kings landing no one cared. Twas obvious something was going to happen. Dude's been/had been trying unsuccessfully to attack for like a decade and barely garnered a spot on the show. The most impressive thing he did was use a ghost to kill his brother and he burned his daughter to a crisp which is basically a one way ticket to the land of unlikeable in tv shows....that and being a huge loser. gtfo, stanis, aka the loser stanis.go birds wrote:yea.AWvsCBsteeeerike3 wrote:He's got the legit claim, right?
