Holy [expletive] this article is mind blowing. It's paywalled but you should get 1 free article per month. Use it on this one. It's all about Noam Chomsky. It gives so much background of him as a person at the beginning that it's hard to see where the article is heading, but the payoff is big. Now I have to go find and read a book called "Don't Sleep...There Are Snakes".

Can you PM me the text? I don't seem to have any free reads, despite not having visited Harpers, well, ever.

What Happened to Eastern Airlines Flight 980?
On New Year's Day in 1985, Eastern Air Lines Flight 980 was carrying 29 passengers and a hell of a lot of contraband when it crashed into the side of a 21,112-foot mountain in Bolivia. For decades conspiracy theories abounded as the wreckage remained inaccessible, the bodies unrecovered, the black box missing. Then two friends from Boston organized an expedition that would blow the case wide open.

Elon Musk isn't just commercializing inventions that can save humanity, he's commercializing inventions that will help us invent those inventions (and everything else) exponentially faster. This long read might blow your mind.
