ZZ Top does not. We left maybe 2/3 through their set.
ZZ Top has lost a step for sure. I've seen them three times and a few weeks ago they was definitely the worst time. I enjoyed their show though and they are legends. Fogerty really suprised me, he was a power house and his show was great. In St. Louis ZZ was the opener and Fogerty the headliner.
Yeah, for us there was some solo act dude I'd never heard of that opened. Just him and and an acoustic guitar from what I could see.
Fogerty then came on, and played a hell of a set. I appreciated all the family interactions he had (his son was one of the other guitarists, and he brought his other son out to sing something... Proud Mary I think). He used a guitar he played at Woodstock with, then told a story about how in 1972 or 1973 it was stolen and was lost for almost 44 years until his wife saw it up for auction somewhere and bought it - she gave it back to him as a Christmas present in 2016.
Fogerty brought Billy Gibbons out for a couple songs, and during those (Holy Holy Holy and Green River) he sounded and played great. I don't know much at all of Fogerty's solo career outside of Centerfield, so I'm glad he stuck to the CCR greatest hits instead. I loved all of it.
I went there mostly for Fogerty, but ZZ Top was a bonus. Mrs. Swirls was the other way around. But we both agreed ZZ just wasn't very good and for the most part all they were doing was just sorta jamming. We left over an hour into their set while they were playing Legs, and it was only like the 5th or 6th song they'd played so far.
