Saw Son Volt at Off Broadway Friday night. Killer show. First time at that venue. We were up in the crow's nest. Interesting perspective. Luke, you there?

Pretty much the same setlist they did when they played the Pageant earlier this year if you were there. Minus the Chuck Berry cover.

Saw Smashing Pumpkins in Columbus last night. Great show. They played for 3 hours, 15 minutes. Played every song you could've asked for. Opening act was a band called Metric that was pretty good too.

Over the weekend the wife and I saw Reba McEntire. I'm not at all a fan of country music, and couldn't name a single song Reba has ever played (she had a really good cover of The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia" which she's apparently pretty famous for), but I will admit she put on a really good show. She didn't play for a super long time though - her set list was under 2 hours.

How was the crowd? Heard ticket sales had been slow.

Over the weekend I was in Nashville to see Needtobreathe and Johnny Swim. Meanwhile, Garth Brooks, Taylor Swift, and Journey/Def Leppard were playing their own shows at the nearby downtown venues. The mashup of people downtown when all concerts released at the same time was like another show in itself.

Saw the Righteous Brothers and Beach Boys at the MN State Fair last night. I was actually quite pleased - I didn't realize John Stamos has been semi-regularly touring with the Beach Boys for the past 25-30 years. He actually sang a couple of the "songs" that his fictitious band Jessie & The Rippers played from on the sitcom Full House.
