Do you think that we need legislation to do that or do you think public pressure will be enough to make uber stop, or another option i'm not seeing? I'm skeptical of the latter, unsure of what the former might look like

I think if taxi companies had treated their drivers better, this might never have happened. Uber only found a foothold because there was money to be made there.
