Cheap High Quality Laptops

Post by go birds »

so im in the market for a cheap high quality laptop...not really looking to spend too much....around the $250-$300 range if that.

Currently i'm using my work laptop for all my browsing and about half the internet is blocked so i need to invest in my own machine.

Again nothing fancy...just something i can use to browse the web, maybe stream, but also microsoft office is a must.

I did some research and everything has pros and cons, so im curious to know what kind porn machines yalls are using?

How about a Chromebook? They can be had for under $200, I think. Great for browsing and streaming, although they don't have much (any?) storage space, so I don't know if you could have Microsoft Office. Although I think Office has a cloud-based service now. But for that matter, would something cloud based like Google Drive work, or would it have to be Office? Google Drive is free, and has its own cloud-based versions of everything Office has. Chromebooks do have USB slots though, so if you had to have Office, I imagine you could have it on an external hard drive or even flash drive. Just spitballing here; I don't have one, but my students at school use them now instead of desktops.

If you're willing to wait that long, there are usually some great deals on Black Friday in that price range.

Also, Groupon usually has some decent deals going on. A lot of times you can get a mid- or upper-tier factory refurb for that price instead of a new bottom-tier laptop.

http://www.slickdeals.net is your friend.

Glad I read the whole title before putting my finger on the ban button. :D

HP 12" laptop on Amazon for $180. A little light on storage (32GB).

I'm sure you'll find "Black Friday" deals well before the actual day.

In this price range, go with the Chromebook. A Windows machine that cheap will lead to regret.

Do you Facebook? If so get on some local sale groups and you can get some great deals on used laptops. Last year I bought a decent hp laptop for 150 because the lady hated windows 10.

I bought one of those recently (maybe not that exact model) and it's a solid machine.

I just picked this up, as I was looking for something exactly like you. It's definitely, not anything special, but I got it for $159.

HP 14-G4 14" Chromebook, Intel N2840 Dual-Core 2.16GHz

-Intel Celeron N2840 2.16GHz (Burst up to 2.58GHz)
1MB Cache

-4GB DDR3; 16GB eMMC SSD

thanks for the suggestions everyone. really the only thing keeping me from getting a chrome book is that i am so used to Microsoft office and all my documents are either word docs or PDF. i guess at this point in time, i can convert everything right?

assuming that, yea i think chromebook is the way to go, based on price alone.

I haven't spent a huge amount on time testing it, but Office Online is free has all the basic features.
