I think so too, although I'm generally an across from each other person, My gf is definitely a side by side type of gal. Which is fine by me.

Maybe it was just France but i believe Espana as well.

Yeah, but at least you can angle the chairs and are looking at European streets. Sitting in a fixed booth in some greasy spoon and staring at an empty booth seat across from you just seems weird. But then again I don't like booths to begin with and I've never been a touchy-feely guy.
