Re: Who will sit on the Iron Throne?
What I liked about Jon Snow in the beginning was that anyone could get anywhere if they had the abilities, the luck, all that. But it turns out he's just the son of the famous dragon family and is destined to do X and Y. Prophecies and suchlike are the things that put people off fantasy books and shows after they turn about 15.
Having waited a hell of a long time for this story to end, my enjoyment of there finally being a conclusion is somewhat tampered by the fact there'll inevitably be a million sequels and prequels. But I think the people we've expected to end up on the Iron Throne (Jon and / or Dany) will end up on the Iron Throne.

What will be interesting is how long it takes GRRM to actually finish the book series now that it's been surpassed by 2-3 seasons of the TV show

He might never finish now. He certainly doesn’t seem motivated anymore. I have completely given up on the books. If he finished the next tomorrow, I probably wouldn’t even bother to buy it.Swirls wrote:What will be interesting is how long it takes GRRM to actually finish the book series now that it's been surpassed by 2-3 seasons of the TV show

Leroy.
P.S. I've never watched GoT, so I have no idea who any of the people in the poll are.
I'll see my way out now.

ehh i wasn't expecting much in the first episode, even though there are only 6.
There had to be a reunion and there was a lot to be brought up to speed on.
I'm glad they didn't drag out Theon and Yara.
I expect much much more next week.

I really enjoy Winterfell Bran. Every now and then he'll unlock a crucial piece of historical knowledge and present-day intel, but really all he does is sit in the middle of a busy intersection and make excruciatingly awkward eye contact with every character who crosses his path.
