Don't have much experience with northern bbq. I will say we took a little trip to up near Pittsburgh the other month, and drove all the way taking about a week to go there and back and now that you mention it, I can't recall seeing a single BBQ shack up north. Drive 15 hours southeast, south (without hitting the ocean), or southwest and you can't go an exit without seeing something (except Florida).

Hasbro's latest PR stunt to boost Monopoly sales is to replace one of the tokens (thimble) with another piece to be announced.

Saw people online saying "they got rid of the thimble! Never playing again!"

Uh... if you have Monopoly at home, you can still be the thimble. And what American household--especially one that wants to play Monopoly-- doesn't already have the game?

Pittsburgh's food scene is its own particular brand of weird. All the meals are comically large. You could do a fun Wheel of Fortune/make your own Pittsburgh meal wheel that has slaw on an already too big sandwich, way too many fries on a sandwich, pierogies, ketchup, and Iron City beer. Spin until you get 3 of those things.

When I talked to my gf on the phone today she told me she had been shopping and she had something special for me. My mind filled with all sorts of dirty and wonderful thoughts. I drove home quickly imagining my tall sexy goddess of a gf waiting for me in bed in some sexy lingerie and heels. I opened the door filled with the boyish excitement of a kid on prom night when he just knows he's going to get it. There she was, holding my brand new back brace.

Looking at PD event photos for city events over the years -seems like most the people captioned in pics are from Illinois. From festivals, concerts, fair st. Louis and yes Cardinal games to Mardi Gras to St Pats or 5k cupid undie run -almost everybody is from IL.

No Ballwin or Des Peres or Ladue or Sunset Hills MO.

My theory- Illinois people like city of St. Louis more tham Missourians. Either that or they more jazzed about being in a photo

Neither person in this story is me... this time.

You know you've had a good night when you wake up at your brother's place in Soulard with another friend and don't remember going back there after spending the day at Taste of Soulard with friends. And then your friend finds her car keys in the bush out front. Trying to piece together the end of the night you look at your bank account and see that you only spent money in Soulard which makes sense but then there is a large charge from a cab company on there too. Since the last thing you remember is being two blocks from where you woke up, you assume the charge is fraud and contact the cab company right? I found out about the story when a friend sent me a copy of the response from the cab company regarding the charge.

Their response was basically, "The reason the charge was so high is that a cop flagged down cab number XXXX and put you guys in the cab to go home. You first wanted to go downtown but when you got there you changed your mind and told him to take you to the CWE but when you got there you changed your mind again and had him take you back to Soulard where he dropped you off."

Oops. They basically took a tour of the city without remembering it and ended back up two blocks from where the cab picked them up and finally crashed for the night since they couldn't drive themselves home.

I'm definitely going to give them a hard time about that at Mardi Gras on Saturday. With one of them it doesn't surprise me at all but with the sister, I am a bit surprised. She's normally pretty responsible with her drinking.
