Thanks for the thoughts and words of encouragement.

My dad passed away on Monday. After discussions with the doctor my family determined that another surgery (if he survived it) would not give my dad the quality of life that he deserved.

If there is any silver lining to this it is all of the pictures, stories memories and support that we have gotten from friends and family.

I'm so sorry Sparks; the arbitrary hardiness and fragility of life is constantly shocking.

I'm sorry, too, sparks. It sounds like a lot of people knew and loved him. I always enjoy your posts, and the class and smarts you bring to the board reflect well on him.
