After losing Erik in February and Sidney in May, a cousin of mine contacted me in July and told me her cat had a litter of kittens and asked if I wanted one. I asked my uncle and he said no, citing the medical expenses and cleaning expenses that I had run up with Sidney and Erik. Today I found out that my cousin's cat had another litter on September 12th and I asked my uncle if I could have one and this time he agreed. He said it would have to be female and I don't know if any of the kittens are female (probably too early to tell sex), but if one of them is female, I can get her in about three weeks. I hope that one of them is female and that I can have her. Now I have to think of names.

Hope it works out for you Mary. I suppose baseball names like Harrison or Tyler are out with a female cat, although Yadi might work or maybe Cafecito.

to mary and any other cat lovers - i recommend a book "a streetcat named bob". true story about a british busker and recovering addict who meets a cat and they form a great bond that help both human and cat. very sweet and a quick/relaxing read. perhaps it's already been referenced here but just fyi/fwiw.

Definitely puppies.

And grandkids. (First one is here later today!)
