Bibbed over alls
My Grandfather wore bibbed over alls basically every day of his life. I'm pretty sure if they made them in suit form he'd have worn them to church. At some point when my Father and Uncle got old they started wearing them on the farm for work, and now they are basically a staple in both of their wardrobes. As I think more of a joke then anything my Dad bought me a pair for Christmas which I just put in the closet never to wear. Until today.
Our washing machine took a dump last week and we intend to go get a new one this weekend so the laundry is piling up at the house and I guess I'm out of regular jeans. So I put on the bibs and I'm thinking I may never wear anything else again. They were comfy, I didn't have to tug on them to keep them on my fat ass all day and I didn't have to mess with a belt. Yep I'm sold on them. My gf is going to ridicule me though.

Oh wow, that should provide some comic relief. You realize it's bib overalls, right?

When you're sporting a $200 pair, that's when other farmers know you've really made it. Just don't get hit by a tractor or they might get torn.
Remember when people wore those as a fashion statement back in the 90s with the straps hanging down? Yeah, that was rad.

My Grandfather wore bibs every day as well. There is a photo of him wearing his striped bibs with a suit jacket, starched white shirt and a fedora....for a wedding in the 1950s.

Is there a difference in bib overalls and regular overalls? Growing up we just called them overalls. My grandpa wore Big Smith overalls and a long-sleeved plaid shirt (cotton or flannel depending on the weather) with rolled up sleeves all day every day. He wore them to work (he owned like 80 acres and had a small farm, but it was mostly just for personal use, so he worked full-time as a welder), he wore them out to eat, he wore them to church, he wore them at home. Now he's retired, pushing 80, and still wears the same outfit every day.
