Mental Exhaustion
So on top of coronavirus, tRump, police killing more black men by shooting them in the back, my dog is not doing well. I'm already exhausted from so much turmoil (a lot of it intentional on behalf of the turd in the oval office), but last night my dog was yelping and squealing every time she tried to move. I didn't get any sleep, which is really exacerbating my crap a$$ mood.
Poor doggo. She started yelping a little when jumping up on the couch a few months ago. We put her on glucosamine treats. That didn't do much. So we went to the vet. She went on an anti inflammatory med about 3 weeks ago and it was helping a lot. Then all of a sudden, yesterday evening, she started yelping and squealing pretty much every time she got up and/or moved.
This seems more aggressive than your ordinary, run of the mill arthritis. I'm worried.
I'm waiting for a call back from the vet, but they are very busy and it might not be until the end of the day today (small town vet, 1 doc on duty).
I just can't with the world right now.

Re: Mental Exhaustion
Sorry to hear Geddy. Always hard to see your pet suffer.
It is so hard right now. I hope it ends up being something temporary and she's back to her old self soon.

Re: Mental Exhaustion
I really just want to fast forward to November. I can't take any more of the bullsh!t running up to this election. I feel like I'm in a slow motion hostage crisis.

Re: Mental Exhaustion
I'm really sorry, Geddy. The same thing happened to my beagle. Back problems are unfortunately common with the hotdog-shaped breeds. Unfortunately our pup eventually needed back surgery, and now isn't allowed on couches or beds, but she's pulled through and recovered.

I don't know if there is a general "2020" rant thread, but if there is, I could fill 20 pages of it.
Sorry, Geddy. Dog sadness is the worst.

Re: Mental Exhaustion
She's doing kinda better right now. Gabapentin is the next med if she gets bad again.
She's 8, but should easily have another 4 or 5 years in her (50 lb Boston/Pit mix). It really sucks that she's got a chronic pain issue already

Thanks Doc. Means a lot to hear from you.
Also there is a COVID first world problems thread. Lol. I'm betting some of them would fit in there!

Definitely hope she exceeds those estimates. The world is better with a doggo in it.
