Just is Christmas and hasn’t even been cold much and I’m already tired of cutting wood and keeping the damn fire going

How much of the Internet is fake?

Reading this feels like watching a Black Mirror episode.

Chopping wood to heat his home is something a real man does. I am not a real man, I pay NiCor monthly.

Do you have a log splitter or are you doing it all by hand?

Poor people have poor ways.

I use a neighbors splitter, he’s older and doesn’t cut wood anymore. He still likes to have a fire in his fire place so I give him some wood even though he primarily heats with gas now.

We have central gas heat as well but it’s a lot cheaper to burn wood in the Hardy.

That's a good deal. We have a splitter rigged up to our 6420s hydraulics. We heat the shop with wood, although it has a propane heater in it. The problem is when you open the big door you lose all the heat from the propane so we try and keep the wood stove good and hot. Thankfully at the house we have geothermal.

How do you like the geothermal? We hope to remodel/addition in the next few years and that’s at the top of my list. Not trying to be off the grid but wanting to do that and solar, and be mostly self sufficient/efficient

We have geothermal. Outside of being a little noisy, it’s great. Heats, cools and cheap to boot.

Love it. It would definitely be my preferred heating and cooling method. It's cheap to run and particularly in the summer it seems to cool very quickly.
