Rave, headed to the cabin in February

Post by IMADreamer »

With the amazing weather today we decided to head to the cabin for the night. We stayed out side on the deck until 11:45pm. Pretty awesome for February.

I was definitely missing the lake but I don't have a cabin or anything down there so not much to do down there with not being prepared to spend a day working on the lot. I had no idea it was going to be so nice otherwise I would have made plans to head down there.

Saw people kayaking down the Meramac today. Perfect day for it.

Didn't see anyone yesterday while we were hiking at Castlewood but damn were the trails packed.

Yeah-I bet it was packed. Last weekend I thought I was there early enough at 10:15 but the lots were filling up and headed down to Chubb Trail.

Today I had way later start and headed straight to Chubb trail. Not nearly so crowded -the Lone Elk side has a mile or so to get to fun stuff, and the drive to West Tyson weeds people out.

Castlewood give you a lot of options and reward for short hikes. Its can be a madhouse.

At Castlewood SP it is especially popular on the busy weekends to take poop, presumably a dogs, put it in a bag and leave it on the side of the trail.
