Gout

Post by stlouie_lipp »

I have a gout flare-up in my finger of all places. Been dealing with it for close to a month now. Finally went to a doctor and got an official diagnosis and have some gout medicine, but can't start that until I finish the steroids for this flare-up. The steroids don't seem to be doing a damn thing. Luckily it's not very painful (unlike an attack on the big toe) and more of an annoyance, but I haven't been able to play golf and the weather is starting to turn.

Hubby dealt with gout a lot. Daily medication to prevent flair ups and pain medication when he had an attack. Since he's been retired, no bouts of gout! We figured his flair ups were more stress related than diet.

I think that's a big factor. I had a highly stressful month before this attack.

Yep, that's how I got shingles last month. We lawyers need to unionize. I demand 30 hour work weeks.
