I’ve really been enjoying the more hoppy beers lately. Found a Paradise Park Lager that was hoppy when I was in NOLA that I enjoyed and am currently drinking a Breckinridge Brewery Hop Peak IPA.

Is this a recent development for you? I keep trying but just haven’t gained an appreciation for IPAs, at least not yet.

I don’t drink them all of the time but on occasion. I like a lot of different styles of beers. Lately I’d been drinking a lot of PBR, it had been along time since I’d been on an American lager kick before that. When I drink now it’s usually only 1-2 beers so I want some taste.

Tomorrow will be one week since I've had a beer. It's that time of winter now where I'll lose weight because I will go two or three weeks at a time without having a single drink. Then in April softball will start again and I'll gain weight because I drink more calories in beer than I burn every night I play.

As far as a light beer I enjoy Miller Light. But when I want a good tasting lager, I drink Yuengling Traditional Lager. It has a rich amber color and a great medium bodied flavor, as advertised. Not too heavy, not too light. It is brewed not too far away in Pottsville, Pa. where I spent many years when I was younger. It is America’s oldest brewery.

Damn I miss beer.

Sweet, frothy, foamy deliciousness.
