Won't know for a while when they want him to have his next surgery.
Thanks for the positive thoughts!
Dextrocardia? That’s what old friend jim had.
No, I think this is the actual name of it -
Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Connection (TAPVC)
In TAPVC, the blood does not take the normal route from the lungs to the heart and out to the body. Instead, the veins from the lungs attach to the heart in abnormal positions and this problem means that oxygenated blood enters or leaks into the wrong chamber.
The poor guys have real issues with blood oxygen levels, having to be on an oxygen pump quite often, and they get pneumonia often too.
Gotcha. Not the entire heart. Just plumbing. I believe your nephew’s condition is related to the fetal circulatory system not morphing into the standalone human system but i don’t feel like looking it up and might be wrong.

That sounds about right - both of the twins have this defect.
Having complications, they can't close his chest cavity due to bleeding....
They are going to leave his chest open over night in hopes that the oozing stops and then they can fully close up his chest bone in the morning.
More prayers and good vibes needed!
