Not many, I don't think. Combination of things happened and made her look small - her response to the Giffords shooting, halfway jumping in late on the birther thing, and then Trump soaking up all the attention. She'd endear herself to people more at this point if she'd just lay low for a while.

Laying low doesn't earn money though. I'm pretty certain her goal right now is to not declare any intentions for 2012 until the bank account is built up. Maybe some more book sales. Then cash out / declare that she's "better suited to play a role in the media, rather than in office right now". Until 2016 when we can do it all over again.

I've only experienced the latter.

In fairness I should point out that I have many more republican friends who are embarrased that she was an actual VP candidate.

This is where I fall on Palin. Imagine if she was the VP, one heartbeat away from being the POTUS. It's scary enough that loose cannon Joe Biden is in that postion now.

I thought it was disrespectful to the office for her to even be considered.

Everyone keeps saying this but it's not true. Virtually every poll every conducted since the 2008 election has her as one of the leading potential candidates for president. Yes she does have followers, as many faithful followers as any viable candidate. It's possible I guess that that's it, that she won't absorb other supporters as people drop out, but if you had an election tomorrow between all of the viable candidates I wouldn't be surprised if she won it.

She's got high and declining unfavorable ratings among Republicans. She might do okay in a wide open field, but by the time it gets down to 3 or 4 or less, I don't see any reason to think she'd do well.

++

If everyone would quit getting their panties in such a knot over every stupid thing she said, she would just disappear. democrats and liberals are keeping her alive, not the right.

she has an open forum on fox news. its not just the left that keeps her alive.

i agree with the premise of your statement though.

63% favorable? So if you are a Republican, chances are you think favorably of her. How can you say she has no supporters?

I agree that in a smaller field she is probably going to lose. But to say that she has no support is completely contradictory to every single piece of objective information out there.

My family took great umbrage with taking her lie propaganda machine to WI.

I know Strat, you may think she is irrelevant. But as the de facto face of the tea party, she has power, bizarre as that may be.

Supposedly "GOP establishment" and opinion polls of conservatives don't approve of her -but they sure don't mind adopting policy and hateful fearmongering propaganda that she endorses. They know they need her brand of crazy on their side.
