Favorite Womens' Sport

Post by maddash »

Watching the US Women's game versus Brazil today got me thinking about how I enjoy women's soccer almost as much as I do men's, and how much of a rarity that is in sports (for good reasons and bad).

So what's your favorite women's sports?

Tennis.

From a visual perspective, indoor volleyball.

Gymnastics and volleyball are the only sports where watching women is preferable to men. Volleyball and tennis are the only ones I watch with any kind of frequency. But I'll watch just about anything listed and a bunch of others if they are happening during the Olympics.

I prefer watching women's tennis to men's because it's not just ace after ace after ace. Hard to argue with volleyball though.

Women's softball could rate higher than it does. But the infield dimensions, especially the pitchers mound are ridiculous. It is too one-dimensional with how the pitcher dominates - oft times a team is more likely to score from a walk and passed balls than by hits.

I voted tennis, with gymnastics a very close second. Watching the women's gymnastics competition in 2008 was incredible.
