I don't know, I guess. He's not a practice squad guy. Been on the squad full time the last couple years. Pretty much just a passing down pass rusher.

The term gets used way more than it should, but Cassel truly is a game manager. He doesn't turn the ball over, he's above average at avoiding sacks, and he can physically make all the necessary throws. He's not going to carry a team like an elite QB, but combined with an elite ground attack and a good receiver corps, he's not going to keep the offense from being pretty darn good. I'm more concerned about the ramifications of losing Weis and Haley hiring a yes man as the new OC than Cassel not putting up big numbers.

You think McDaniels is a yes man?

I always got the exact opposite impression. He seems like a guy that won't get his ego out of the way for his own good.

But I definitely agree with you - I think KC's offense will be just fine, even with Cassel.

McDaniels went to St. Louis, KC promoted their O-Line coach Bill Muir, who is about 150 years old.

Sample size? This is the NFL, not baseball. Tavaris has gotten plenty of playing time. He is awful. Hasselbeck was once great, is now okay, and has been fighting injuries for the last couple of years.
