You can sense the Lakers starting to panic with the decline of Kobe, the rise of Blake Griffin and a future of possible NBA hell. This stuff about going after Paul & Howard is a Lakers-created rumor and it's pure fantasy in my opinion. Also, the guy reporting it, Chris Broussard, is the ultimate mouthpiece for whatever anyone wants to use him for. He'll regurgitate any line you feed him.MrCrowesGarden wrote:The Lakers wouldn't be the worst trade for the Hornets to make since they know they're going to have to part with Paul, but it wouldn't be the best. I imagine it would be something like Paul and Okafor for Gasol, Odom and Bynum.
I really hope they can work something out with either the Clippers (basically, any players they want besides Blake Griffin) or the Warriors (Monta Ellis and Steph Curry).

Looks like Roy stays. But with Paul Allen, you never know. I really don't think it will go well, but at least the fans are placated, and this way no one will care when we cut him next year.
The problem is waiving him now means full MLE, and maybe Carl Landry to back up Aldridge which would be a big deal for us. It also means getting a much better bid and more money back\ for his services from other teams, which just won't be there next year. I also wanted to see more Matthews and some Batum at the two. Felton/Batum/Wallace/Aldridge/Camby or Oden would be one hell of a defense.
With the long layoff Roy should be fresh though. Hopefully I can enjoy some vintage Roy for a couple/few weeks, at least.

May as well keep him to see if he's got some life. You guys have a solid starting lineup. Fringe contenders if he gives you anything.

Paul to the Lakers is heating up. I hated him a little for demanding a trade to one particular team, but if he's a Laker, I hope his knees pop, or at the very least, someone punches him in the [expletive].

Sounds like they're working on what Houston gets, but its done. Paul to the Lakers, Gasol to Houston, and Odom, Scola,Martin and Dragic to New Orleans. We basically became Odom and the Rockets.MrSaigon wrote:Paul to the Lakers is heating up. The deal is off now. NBA says it wasn't in the best interests of the league.

I feel like Scola/Martin/Odom is a pretty good haul for Paul (haha rhymes). I don't get the nix.

As much as I don't want the Lakers to get what they want, and this one isn't so bad until it leads to the Howard deal, I'm not sure about Stern's move or the precedent it sets here.

At Least I get to keep Derrick Rose....until he is going to Miami and then the Lakers are the mystery team that swoops in and grabs him.
