What does college have to do with the NFL?

Shows potential. That's why good college players are typically drafted into the NFL, while bad ones aren't.

I'm going to link this article again for you.

Quote:
This is the quarterback problem. There are certain jobs where almost nothing you can learn about candidates before they start predicts how they’ll do once they’re hired. So how do we know whom to choose in cases like that? In recent years, a number of fields have begun to wrestle with this problem, but none with such profound social consequences as the profession of teaching.

Are you suggesting that names should just be pulled out of a hat, and drafted accordingly?

Huh, I thought he was already in the NFL?

College success isn't a good predictor of NFL success.

What do you think is?

Tebow was off-the-charts on the Wonderlic test, set an SEC record for passing proficiency, and had unquestionable attitude and work ethic.

He wasn't perfect coming out of college...... everyone agreed on that. But he was certainly a good NFL prospect.

off the bottom of the chart?? A 22 isn't that bad.

/nobody really cares about the wonderlic

According to most scouts that I can recall, not as a QB.

According to most scouts, he'd never start an NFL game as a quarterback, much less be a decent quarterback for a playoff team.

You just never know.
