And a 3-pitch strikeout makes him 0-3.

Lincecum was throwing fastballs at 89-91 last night....mostly sitting 90.

That's not going to work for him for long. Keith Law also confirming he threw no sliders (sometimes the sign of a sore arm.)

Maybe just tough getting loose in Arizona in April. Maybe nothing.

But I'd sell sell sell.

I know I'm not the only one tuned in to the Angels game.

Yeah, I knew there would be a few of us tuning in to see Bert's first non-Cardinal AB. At least it wasn't a GIDP. He looked pretty good. Thought that one he hooked foul might've been gone.

Good luck out there, Big Guy.

You and Planet must be the most kind hearted people on this board. I wish I was more like you two. When I read your thoughts on Pujols I realize that I am not very loyal.

I don't wish for him to do badly but I don't want to watch him to well.

Here's what I want - for Albert to go down in history as one of the all-time greats. He's probably already there, but to ensure that he needs to perform at a high level for 4 or 5 more years. Then he can taper off in the last half of his contract. And I don't want the Angels to win any championships while he's there - he's already got a ring for each hand. I'd like for him to watch the Cards win a few more rings while he's still playing.

This allows me to continue to root for one of my favorite players while feeling better about what happened because he was still successful and so were the Cardinals. And we're not bogged down by his massive contract for the last 5 years or so.

So I don't think that's all that kind hearted of me, but considering just a few months ago I was wondering where they would erect his statue, it's my way of dealing with the reality of the situation.

...except they're giving him credit for having thrown pitches that Lincecum himself says he didn't throw (slider).

Not buying the fangraph there.

So are you saying he was actually throwing 83 mph fastballs instead of the 89-91 in the original post?
