Never ever liked Ottavino. I remember drafting him in the 1st round and wanting someone fired.

Seriously. When can his bus get a flat?

I went looking through the first few pages for a thread about the Cardinals minor leagues and found this instead. After his first two appearances in Memphis Sanchez is sporting a 32.40 ERA. Six runs allowed in 1.2 IP, five hits, five walks, only one strikeout.

Sounds like he's tipping his pitches.

Have to wonder if Sanchez' shoulder fully healed from the "strain" he suffered late last season.

Or they have him working on something. I know they are trying to get him to shorten his delivery. I don't know. To me that could just mess him up.

It's silly to make snap judgments after two outings, I guess, but the fact that he's faced fifteen batters (I think, that webpage didn't list HBP) and only struck one out is the most troubling.

Naturally, in his third appearance he faces three batters and strikes them all out.

Last three appearances, he's struck out 5, walked one, and allowed one hit in 2 2/3 innings. Let's hope he keeps this up, because the bullpen is going to fall apart if we keep leaning on Boggs this hard and he stops performing.

I don't know who or what a "Marte" is, but I want to see Sanchez up here in his/its place pronto.
