No wonder the place sucked -they cater to the coupon crowd. They'll probably el-foldo within a few.
I did against my better judgement get a Two Brothers' beer. Domaine Dupage or some damn thing. Two Brothers is the
Been trying to hit brewpubs when we travel and have thought about going there when at my bros in west suburbs. Though it sounded like it was in an industrial park so we skipped. Is that Two Brothers?
Not counting the bar and grills and wing joints where it is about drinking a few beers -and Oh they have food too - I like going out to eat somewhere nice occassionally with the wife or just one other couple. Big groups -you usually have to go somewhere you don't like because some [expletive] has a coupon, or some other [expletive] hangup.
We like to cook too (you can like both), and sometimes do it up big. Mrs. Freed loves cooking for when we have a group at our house -and sometimes I look at the grocery tab (something like $350 for a dozen people this Christmas - and that isn't counting what the other people brought) and find it would have been cheaper to have it catered or gone out. Though that steamed mussels dish was kick ass.
That's probably it, although I'm not sure exactly where it is. I know it's like 10 minutes from where I work and I've been there. I think they get weird with their beer. Here is a description of their weiss beer:
Ebel's Weiss beer is a very traditional German Hefeweizen
that is naturally unfiltered. It has wonderful malt sweetness
and a soft aroma of clove, vanilla, and banana. This deep
golden colored weiss will make you think you are in Bavaria.
Besides making you think you are in Bavaria, it will also cause you to question your own manhood. I can definitely say I smelled/tasted vanilla and banana, and some other god damned thing that must be that clove they are talking about - whatever that is.
