St. Louis has needed this for a while. I think it is better executed in a more residential neighborhood like Soulard or around Tower Grove, but I'll settle for this.

It's probably far cheaper for them to set up shop where they are now than in either of those neighborhoods. With the area growing quickly (Pappy's, Triumph, etc. drawing people in), they probably have a good opportunity to grow with the area. For me it's a quick ride up Compton so I really like the location, and if it was in Soulard there would be too much risk for the place becoming bro-tastic (maybe not, they don't serve bud light).

I think that was just north of downtown, closer to the dome. Urban Chestnut is in the north eastern area of midtown.

I didn't really mean for Urban Chestnut to up and move. Just that I think a biergarten is better suited for a more residential setting like that. Partly because there's more trees there, and that's an important part of a good biergarten.

For instance, if a brewer took over Molly's, that area between Molly's and the former Norton's would be perfect.

I agree. Drinking beer outside is the best, and the more parklike a setting the better. We tolerate the less than stellar beer at Square One and Augusta Brewery because they have excellent outside drinking settings. (though Square One's outside area is too small).
