So, did he go home or is he visiting his ex-father-in-law?

216/.266/.295, 0 HR

Albert's worst month by a long shot. Here are all the months in his career he's ever OPS'd below .800:

.793 ('01)
.715 ('06)
.758 (Apr '11)
.752 (May '11)
.561 (Apr '12)

Albert's worst month ever?
He still has today to make up the diff... ok, yea, probably his worst ever.

I want him to do well, though I am enjoying his slump. I want him to experience some humility early on so he can feel what it's like to struggle somewhere other than St. Louis.

I think I'm enjoying the Angels losing more than Pujols struggling, however. I don't blame Albert for taking more money elsewhere (though I'm pissed at him for constantly telling us it wasn't about the money and that God had something to do with taking $240 mil over $220 mil), but I should be allowed to hate the Angels for taking away from us what could have been.

You and everyone else should be allowed to hate whoever they want. I'm enjoying Pooholes' April immensely.

One of the things I used to be most impressed with regarding Pujols was his mental side of the game. I didn't care that he didn't make time for fans, particularly before games. He was preparing himself for the game. He was remarkably consistent, and I thought the mental side was the biggest reason why.

But last year's start changed my thinking. I didn't know if he was hurt or was pressing. Looked like he was pressing.

And then this year...wow. Remarkable in a completely different way.

I'm pretty sure that he's going to bounce back and have decent numbers by the end of the year, but this sure is shaping up to look like the Cardinals made the correct decision. This is probably going to be the type of production (or lack of) that we'll see from him for the majority of that contract.

Angels fans have to be in the dumps right now.

Maybe Trout's slow start will take pressure off Pujols.

I'm sure they are in the dumps. Their team is 9 games back. Meanwhile, across "town", the Dodgers are in first place. Oh, and Matt Kemp, who also signed a pretty hefty contract in the offseason, isn't pressing at all. His average (.425) is much higher than Pujols' slugging. He's got 11 HRs (four less than the Angels as a team), and he's slugging almost .900.

They might be in the dumps for a while.
