Gingrich is giving up the ghost. Romney it is. Time to retire this thread and start the Great 2012 Election Foofaraw?

how many personal isolation's from GRB will it cause?!?!?!

I think several people left the board as a result of the 1500 page 2008 election thread. Our goal should be at least three. I'll begin: Your favorite candidate is just like Hitler.

I'll just make a blanket statement: if you vote for Obama or Romney, you have a very small brain. So small, in fact, you 100% definitely are not worth the air you breathe....so please stop doing so.

And, if you don't take my adivce, then [expletive] you because you're not even a fan of America.

Johnson 2012!!!

Why do you hate America and love Communist China so much? Johnson is a communist, racist, hippie loving, Christian hating homophobe. Gah, you're such a waste of resources!

Who'll be his running mate? Does he try to get the moderates by having another mildly-uninteresting but slightly more affable than himself type? A Portman or Chris Christie? Maybe even go off the reservation and ask Joe Lieberman? Or does he try to excite the conservative base he never appealed to and go for a Mitch Daniels/Bob McDonnell or Marco Rubio?

Despite most of them claiming to be uninterested.

I don't see how he doesn't pick Rubio. Florida will be really important.

He'll do the traditional conservative thing and pick someone more hardline than himself and from the south. Rubio works. Before the world realized what a complete [expletive] Rick Perry is, he would've been a likely choice too.

I'm going to put three imaginary dollars on Nikki Haley of South Carolina. Tea party cred, would help Romney appeal to women voters (which is a problem for him), and she's not an intellectual black hole like a certain former GOP VP candidate.

She's said she has 0 interest.

It seems Mittens has alienated the conservative right so much no one even wants the not-so-coveted Veep spot for him. I saw Bachmann mentioned as well who'd cover the Tea Party/Woman angle, but not help him in the south. Jindal was also mentioned and he kinda looks like a VP.

It's got to be Rubio because Time Magazine says Latinos will decide the election.

Man. Realllly heavy push to get Lugar out here in Indiana the past couple months. Guy opposing him in the primary calling him Obama's favorite Republican and harping on his F-rating from the NRA.
