Why were they doing that when their pitcher was pitching? If your going to show your ass, wouldn't you do it when the opposing pitcher was working to try to distract him?

Because they're dumb.

Harper aside, looks like all those years of high draft picks are paying off in Washington. Gonna be an interesting story, following them this year.

And that wasn't as good as the one in LA during his first game. He should have two assists already with both being at the plate.

Don't run on that OF.

Brett Lawrie is another one to watch. He's going to be a stud, but he does strike me a bit as a douche.

The kid plays hard; ESPN just showed him going to first in 3.7 sec...on a popup to short.

I've thought the same thing about both of those guys. Hope there's not a new wave of dicks that want to turn MLB into the NBA.

Baseball wishes. Just having a few new marketable personalities - even one in the style of a WWF heel - would make up some of the huge marketing void between MLB and the more popular sports. When the best player gets forced the nickname "the machine" in part because he has no discernible personality, it's kind of a problem.

Yes, because if there's one thing MLB needs, it's a bunch of jerks running around posing and talking trash.

Lawrie has lightened up a lot since being traded is my understanding. He plays the game incredibly hard and has been likened to George Brett in the way he plays the game.

Harper is 19, Lawrie is 22, they both still have a lot of maturing left, and Harper is going to be around guys like Zimmerman, Ankiel and Werth while Lawrie will be around Bautista. I think they'll turn out just fine, but yea, at the moment they're both kinda douchebags.
