Actually, it might. One of the many advantages they have over platter drives is that you can literally throw them across the room at something hard and not cause a problem, whereas a traditional drive can potentially be ruined if you drop it on the carpet putting it into your case.

I splurged on an SSD last winter, and its a delight. I still install most programs on my HD though. Its a great tech, I'm happy the prices continue to drop quickly.
