Fried ravioli is what I think of with Missouri. Illinois I think ... well I think of going to another state to get something good to eat. Let's face it, if you asked every person in Illinois the most famous food in our state it would be a hot dog ....... A god damned hot dog.

Not me; I'd say corn.

In fact, the state snack food is popcorn.

Um, how about the barbecue, guys?

The BBQ is from Kansas City, which is in Missouri.

Williamsburg, KS has some world famous BBQ, too. Johnny Carson used to have his private plane pick some up and fly it to LA.

Something like 80% of the states population is in the Chicago metro area, and given that I bet the most common answer given would be a hot dog with that nasty ass lime green relish with tomatoes and pickle slices.

I'd say our state food (in Northern IL at least) should be the burrito. There are more burrito joints than any other type of restaurant.

It isn't statewide; it's a Springfield specialty. You can get it at virtually any restaurant in town. It is DELISH!

If you come to town to try it, you'll want to go to D'Arcy's Pint, Dublin Pub, or Charlie Parker's (featured several times on the Food Channel).

There's a place in Edwardsville that has them. Quite a selection of meat types.

Found it, Sgt Peppers. They're on N Main. You'll see Century Road a lot of places but they moved. I was there around Christmas.
