What a country.

I was being a little tongue in cheek but after looking https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Susan_Col ... _positions

* Pro-Choice
* Voted to repeal Don't Ask Don't Tell
* Supported hearings for Garland
* Against Trumpcare
* Against Trump's Tax Plan
* Against drilling on public lands
* For expanded firearm background checks, C+ from NRA and D- from Gun Owners of America
* Voted against DeVos

Also
* Voted for Bush Tax Cut Extension
* Votes against Free Trade Agreements
* Votes with Trump 80% of the time; despite being the lowest of the GOP, the next person, Democrate Joe Manchin, is 27 points lower at 53%.

I'm not sure I'd call her mainstream Republican but she does appear to have some fundamental conservative positions.

Below are the talking points for the tax bill for individuals/families. It mostly talks about what the bill doesn't change. It's also very vague. For example, the talking points note the bill keeps 401ks, but does the bill lower the contribution limits which was being discussed?

Anyway, it's terrible. The wealthy stand to gain bigly. We get a 1.5 trillion dollar bill for it.

In a 'closed-door' meeting. Something that will effect everyone in this country being rammed through without debate.

What a f*cking country.

The student-loan interest deduction is eliminated. Way to encourage education in this country, GOP. I guess we can all get those new coal jobs y'all are going to be creating.

Isn't this what everyone aspires to?

Shocking news

Winners
Big corporations
The super rich
Anyone paying the AMT
Hedge funds, doctors and lawyers

Losers
Home builders
(Some) small business owners
People in high-tax blue states
The working poor
Charities

Link

This a small detail, but simply amazing:

Quote:
On the campaign trail, Trump also said that hedge funds were “getting away with murder” on their taxes and that he would take away carried interest, the popular loophole in the tax code these Wall Street titans use. But the bill does not change or eliminate carried interest, which is also used by some real estate developers.

I thought at the very least this bill would kill carried interest. So awful.

The only thing I see missing is the 'Additional Tax Because You're Not Rich' tax.
