I don't really get into the Olympics and the Winter in particular always seemed like a sham

To me the Winter Olympics is the best Olympics, and it's no contest. I wonder how that would break down in a large scale poll. My guess is it would be 2/3 in favor of Summer.

I love the Winter Olympics too. I will love them a little less without NHL players though.

Curling is good, sigh. Though if it had cats it would be better.

I enjoy curling, too. But I couldn't resist the gif.

Our whole family is into curling. Hopefully we won't suck like we usually do.

Short track speed skating is a [expletive] blast. And, if memory serves me correct, the Koreans are very good at it.

I've always preferred Winter Olympics...I don't mind Summer but I guess I am usually just busier that time of year.

yeah, he sounds like a petty a$$hole. if that's his attitude, then i'm glad he lost the coin flip...

Quote:
Hamlin and Davis were among eight nominees for the flag-bearer role, and athletes from each of the eight winter sports federations -- bobsled and skeleton, ski and snowboarding, figure skating, curling, biathlon, hockey, speedskating and luge -- represented those nominees in balloting that took place Wednesday night.

Eventually, the final vote was deadlocked at 4-4. Hamlin won a coin toss, which was the predetermined method of picking a winner if all else failed in the athlete-led process. The U.S. Olympic Committee confirmed the tie, and that voters knew in the event of a tie, the coin toss would take place.
