EDIT – Going to guess the stadiums:
Michigan, New LA Stadium, Cowboys Stadium, Soldier Field, New Falcons Stadium, NYG Stadium, FedEx Field, Stanford Stadium, Arrowhead, Seahawks Stadium
They made the latest cut on candidate cities, let's see how close I was:

United States:
Atlanta (yes)
Baltimore
Boston
Cincinnati
Dallas (yes)
Denver
Houston
Kansas City (yes)
Los Angeles (apparently they haven't decided between Rose Bowl & the new stadium yet)
Miami
Nashville
New York/New Jersey (yes)
Orlando
Philadelphia
San Francisco Bay Area (They picked Levi's over Stanford)
Seattle (yes)
Washington DC (yes)

No Chicago surprises me.

It's sad St. Louis can't be in that list.

There's no venue tho. That's pretty key.

Has anybody here ever been to an STLFC game? I can't remember. I got my tickets in the mail for the home opener on the 31st earlier this week. I've never been to one but I have a few friends that go to every game they can so I picked up a ticket in the same section as them. I think we'll be in Section 9.

I was a season ticket holder up until this year. The games are so much fun. Sitting in Section 9 is a blast. We dropped our season tickets because we traveled too much in summer and rarely used all our tickets, but we'll be at the park plenty of times still. Have fun!

I had a good time at the STL FC game on Saturday. The weather absolutely stunk before the game and probably kept a lot of fans away but it was still enjoyable. I'll probably go back.

I can also say that they are 1-0 when I'm in attendance now since they scored in the fifth minute and then held on the rest of the way with it getting pretty intense late. Colorado Springs just completely blew chance to tie by missing a completely wide open goal when the attempt sailed way over the goal. One of the defenders for STL FC also saved the game with only a couple of minutes left when the goalie came out to challenge and got beat. The defender came flying back out of nowhere and managed a beautiful slide tackle right before the Colorado Springs player buried it. There was literally nobody between him and the goal but he didn't regain control quick enough after getting around the goalie and the defender got to him right as he was about to put it in.

Pretty entertaining.

It used to be three minutes of stoppage time, damn it all. They could stop so a life flight could land on the field, and they could spend twenty minutes looking for the keeper's contact lens and there'd always be 3 minutes. MLS has addressed that this year, and I approve. They say it's a global initiative but these days I'm not watching any soccer outside of MLS.

But you probably clicked here to see Bale's goal, so I'll give you this dew drop:

Cincinnati has been awarded a Major League Soccer expansion team that will begin play in the 2019 MLS season, Commissioner Don Garber announced today.

The club, which will continue as FC Cincinnati when it joins MLS, will play at Nippert Stadium until the club’s 21,000-seat soccer stadium in Cincinnati’s West End neighborhood is completed in 2021.

The announcement comes amid uncertainty about the future of Crew SC. In October, Precourt Sports Ventures announced it would explore the possibility of relocating the team to Austin, Texas, after the 2018 season, citing concerns with attendance, an aging Mapfre Stadium and lack of corporate sponsorships.

Publicly, the league has said FC Cincinnati’s consideration for an expansion bid is not related to Crew SC’s status and early last year indicated regional rivalries have the potential to “cut both ways,” drawing upon each other’s fan bases while also possibly raising the collective relevance of each team.
