LOS ANGELES -- Texas Rangers right-hander Bartolo Colon recorded his 2,500th career strikeout during Tuesday night's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Colon, 45, reached the milestone when he struck out second baseman Max Muncy in the first inning.

Colon is the 34th pitcher in MLB history with 2,500 strikeouts. He is tied with Hall of Famer Juan Marichal for most wins by a pitcher from the Dominican Republic with 243.

Tomorrow is the anniversary of Colon pitching a no-hitter in the minor leagues. Based on what he looked like then, I'm convinced that Colon has gone through some Dr. Who-like regeneration.
