Britton's rates are just so bad for two years now. I am in agreement. Smith for JMart and Woodford or something. Get it done.

Seems like Cards are going to explore every possible trade option for JMart before signing Britton. That does probably make him the most likely get for the pen because the JMart market really doesn’t seem to have materialized the way the Cards want. Lots of smoke around JMart since before the deadline but he is still here. They might have to settle for a Grichuk-like deal just to clear JMart out to gain roster space and then sign a lefty.

It is not a great use of resources but it wouldn’t surprise me.

We we know at the very least we can get Cingrani for JMart. Not sure Mo likes that trade though unless some big Bellinger blockbuster is also part of it.

Fact: Gussie Busch ensured that there was never a Cardinal named "Miller" on the roster the entire time he owned the team.

(I have no idea of that's true or not, but let's go with it.)

Alas not true. The great future HoFer Bob Miller was excised in 1961, and that was the last Miller employed by the Cardinals until the infamous Uncle Trevor era began in 2009.
