Hammerstones breakfast menu.Freed Roger wrote:Group of 6 going to Rams game at noon. Any suggestions on somewhere to grab breakfast and a beer? Somewhere we can get in, and not interfere too much with foodies and the church crowd. Doesn't necessarily have to be downtown, just on the way there. Hammerstones?

They probably also do a shuttle for the game.

Red Oak Biscuit on Cherokee is pretty good. They say they are "Rooted in Southern Cuisine" so was hoping to find a closer version of Asheville NC Biscuithead
Red Oak, some smoked meats, but not very southern IMO (where's the fried chicken for pete's sake?). And not a Biscuithead (with their home made jams, and flights of gravy.... FLIGHTS OF GRAVY!
The biscuit itself at red oak is pretty tasty, but maybe a tad too dense, thus am too full in a jiff - would like a more airy biscuit. If you look at the pics on each place's website, you can see what I mean about the biscuits, and Southern food. I almost feel like giving Red Oak a nudge, to go on road trip.
Doesn't exactly sound like a plug here, but I enjoyed Red Oak. They did well in that space.
A while ago, went to nearby Mud House for breakfast. Also very good.
Hoot - any of the Mexican restaurants serve a good breakfast down there? (besides taco bell)
