Tommy Pham won his arbitration case against the Rays and will make a $4.1 million salary in 2019.
Pham was offered $3.5 million from the Rays when arbitration figures were exchanged last month, but the player won out in the hearing. While the 30-year-old disappointed to begin 2018, he finished with a .343/.448/.622 batting line over 39 games after being traded to the Rays. This was his first year of arbitration eligibility.

Yeah, we made a few dumb moves last year. This being #1.InvincibleCakeEater wrote:Kind of like how the St. Louis Cardinals only gave him a 25k raise because he declined a 2 year deal and then traded him.heyzeus wrote:The Rays would really go to an arb hearing over $600k, and risk souring their relationship with an extremely talented and affordable player? What a cheap ass franchise.Tommy Pham will have his arbitration hearing with the Rays on Monday.
Pham requested $4.1 million and was offered $3.5 million by the Rays when arbitration figures were exchanged last month. Following Monday's hearing, the arbitration panel will decide on one salary or the other for 2019. Pham thrived following last season's trade from the Cardinals, batting .343/.448/.622 over 39 games.
